 A NEW TAKE ON TAKEOUT? 

 IT'S ABOUT TIME. 

How did we get here? Glad you asked. We were all set to open an Italian restaurant called CoMMO in early 2020. But then the world went sideways. So we decided to turn CoMMO into A Community of Menus and Meals Online. Why? Because it was always pretty clear to us that most alternatives to cooking from scratch have simply never delivered the convenience, quality, choice or value that we all crave. 

 

Takeout choices are often limited to items that will travel well and are often underwhelming and overpriced because of the high fees delivery platforms charge restaurants. Meal kits can take time and demand some level of skill, prep, and clean-up. Prepared meals have a limited shelf-life and occupy precious fridge space. And store-bought frozen meals are usually neither restaurant-quality nor nutritious: not the type of fare anyone would feel proud to serve to family or guests.

So we created CoMMO to make it easy and affordable to enjoy restaurant-quality food and beverages at home tonight or any night: experiences that everyone will love – minus the planning, prep, clean up or the restaurant price. So we can feel good about what we’re eating and steal back precious time for other important things.

CoMMO. It’s about time.

MICHAEL SULLIVAN

Culinary Director

CoMMO is the brainchild of chef, restaurateur and entrepreneur Michael Sullivan. Most recently Michael was the owner and operator of Victor Restaurant in the Le Germain Hotel on Mercer Street and is also a partner in Stackt Market. Like many restaurateurs, Michael was forced to pivot as a result of COVID 19.

Marketing Director

James is a marketing communications veteran, having spent his career at top advertising agencies and most recently as a consultant. If Michael is the inspiration behind CoMMO, James is the muse: he lives in a bustling household of 5 and faces the “what’s for dinner” dilemma. Every. Single. Day.

Betty's Proprietor

Alex has been in the bar in restaurant business for most of his life, the last 15 as owner of Betty’s on King. Like Michael, COVID-19 forced Alex to look at innovative ways to keep serving Betty’s loyal customers so partnering with CoMMO made a lot of sense.

Capital Partner

James is Capital Partner at Thin Air Labs, a venture studio that invests and builds ventures with new ideas to old problems. As he likes to say, he’s always “cooking up some things.” So CoMMO was a perfect collaboration.
